This work was born out of a single question:

What do I wish to take away or celebrate from nature? During a summer exchange at Design Academy Eindhoven, we were asked to explore our relationship with the Bonnenpolder, a plot of greenland located in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

My attention turned towards the earth: the soil, the grass, the trees. This led me to look at the moss: also known as nature's carpet. I was fascinated by how moss can grow and thrive in the most unexpected places, and how it can create a sense of softness and comfort in an otherwise hard and unforgiving environment.

I wanted to create a work that celebrated the beauty and resilience of moss, while also inviting people to slow down and connect with nature in a more intimate way.

With this, a booklet, commemorating the moss was created. It includes a collection of photographs that celebrate the beauty and resilience of moss. The booklet invites people to slow down and connect with nature in a more intimate way, and to appreciate the small wonders that can be found in the world around us.

Finally, a video of myself lying in different parts of the forest: meant to be a personal expression in response to the question I started with. It is a way for me to connect with nature and to find a sense of peace and comfort in the midst of the chaos of everyday life.
